Near-End Crosstalk Considerations For Coupled Microstriplines
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper addresses the impact of near-end crosstalk on the signal integrity of two coupled microstriplines. The physical mechanisms that lead to near-end crosstalk are discussed in detail, and results from computer simulations are highlighted to provide some insight into this kind of signal degradation. The load for each microstripline is an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) with a series R-L-C input impedance, in which R = 14m, L = 1nH, and C = 2pF.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Crosstalk and Delay Profiles in VLSI Interconnect Structures with Partially Coupled Lines
In this paper, we present a methodology to explore and evaluate the crosstalk noise and the profile of its variations, and the delay of interconnects through investigation of two groups of interconnect structures in nano scale VLSI circuits. The interconnect structures in the first group are considered to be partially coupled identical lines. In this case, by choosing proper values for differen...
متن کاملSignal Integrity Analysis of High Speed Interconnects In PCB Embedded with EBG Structures
This paper brings out a novel method for reducing Near end and Far end Crosstalk using Electromagnetic Band Gap structures (EBG) in High Speed RF transmission lines. This work becomes useful in high speed closely spaced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) traces connected to multi core processors. By using this method, reduction of -40dB in Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT) and -60 dB in Far End Crosstalk (FEX...
متن کاملMinimizing crosstalk in a high-speed cable-connector assembly
This paper presents the detailed signal-integrity analysis results of the connector and cable linking the ALICE Time Projection Chamber (TPC) to its Front-End Electronics. The goal was to find a cable design that minimizes the crosstalk (electromagnetic coupling) between the signal lines. Other considerations taken into account were the signal line capacitances and the imposed mechanical constr...
متن کاملMultichannel signal processing for data communications in the presence of crosstalk
AbstructWe consider transmission of data over multiple coupled channels, such as bundles of twisted-pair copper wires in the local subscriber loop, and between central offices in the public switched telephone network. Transceiver designs for such channels typically treat the crosstalk between adjacent twisted pairs as random noise uncorrelated with the transmitted signal. We propose a transmitt...
متن کاملThe link between the Near-End and the Far-End Crosstalk Coupling Constants
A model is proposed to describe the local connection between the capacitive and the inductive unbalance functions of two neighbouring twisted pairs. A realistic simulation of the unbalance functions indicates that the constant ratio of the inductive unbalance with respect to the capacitive unbalance is a workable model. Using this model, it is demonstrated that the calculation of the reflective...
